Track and field: The Diamond League is underway, and the big U.S. winners were those who just don’t get enough credit. Brittney Reese had the best U.S. women’s long jump in 15 years. Shot putter Ryan Whiting, like Reese, set a meet record with the best U.S. throw since 2007. Two-time Olympic medalist Dawn Harper-Nelson won a terrific 100-meter hurdles race. Christian Taylor won the triple jump, and Michael Tinsley won the 400 hurdles.
