  1. Progress is not always better, but yes, this is progress. Fans wanting to see the big moments in a soccer cycle is BIG progress. Women’s soccer is moving out of the high rent boutique district and into the mall. All we have to do now is keep it out of Walmart and we’re good.

  2. Diane: What Fans? What Progress?

One day people will understand the game of women’s soccer is just not exciting enough to be a fan based profitable pro sport.

On the National level I think its great and our national team should be more active. Pia needs to go. She is a buddy and not a coach. She coaches our players like slow nonathletic euro players. She also holds on to the old players way to long. She is giving these players a pay day and not letting the best players make the rosters. The National team is not a pro team but it is a team made up of the best players in our country.

Pia this is the USA!! The best sports country in the world. We do not need to take baby steps. We have lead the world in Women’s Soccer since the 80’s!!!!! You have made us second rate. You are holding us back! You lost by not defending your box. I believe you had height advantage and athleticism advantage. Go back to Sweden and if you are so great I am sure they will make you their head coach.

    • @no – I get it, you’re not a fan of women’s soccer or Pia, just the NT if we beat everyone’s ass. The world has caught up while you were under your rock. The game has shifted from purely athleticism to more ball skills, tactics and possession. She’s given 18 players their 1st cap and you still need experience to balance out the new players.

Pia will more than likely be going back to Sweden..then you will have a new coach to hate on.

  3. @ERic – I would not be a fan of the Walmart version of women’s soccer..low ticket prices/salaries at the cost of low quality.
